“Someday” Comes to York

It’s pumpkin spice season… and with that comes YORK BOOK EXPO next Saturday from 11am-4pm at Wisehaven Event Center, 2985 E. Prospect Road in York, PA. Admission is FREE and open to the public.
This is the biggest weekend of my whole year! I’m incredibly honored to help promote the works of 115 authors from 7 states, 11 regional publishers, and 2 area bookstores to our central Pennsylvania community. There’s not a single other event that puts local and regional authors Center Stage.
There are lots of opportunities for you to enjoy the festivities:
  • 11am-12:30pm: Animals That Serve features “working dogs” in Search & Rescue, Service Animals, and Therapy Pets. Meet the author/handlers who have trained with their dogs, and learn how you and your furry friend can do the same. Join Linda Swenson and “Luther,” Monique Stein and “Clutch,” and Gemma Martin and “Bella”  for all the details. (Please note, our venue is not able to accommodate your personal pet at this event, sorry!)
  • “Read to the Therapy Dogs” will be present throughout the day. Bring your child to enjoy a great book in the company of the world’s most lovingest paws!
  • 12:30pm: Free Raffle Drawing
  • Yummy concessions available throughout the day, courtesy of the banquet staff of Wisehaven Event Center
  • 1pm: Get Published – I’m leading a 45-minute workshop on the different paths available to you to write and publish your best work. You can even sign up for a 1-on-1 consult during the event (15-minute blocks… just reply to this email). If you’ve been waiting for your “Someday I’ll write a book” moment… seize the day!
  • 2pm: Free Raffle Drawing
  • 2:30pm: Swing dance demo with dancers from The Victrola Dance Hall
  • 3:30pm: Free Raffle Drawing
I hope you’ll join us to meet loads of awesome authors and take home autographed copies of their books for your whole family. (Many are equipped to accept credit cards, but cash is always king.)
Please come up and say HI while you’re there. Again, book sales and signing runs from 11am-4pm… but the creative inspiration to write will follow you the whole week!
Cheers, Demi

  1. It was an amazing day, and I’m realizing the more I put myself out there, the more comfortable it becomes.
I sold some books, but more importantly I connected with so many people, both readers and writers. I loved making those connections and being among “my people.” 😉
Thank you for all the hard work you put into making this such a wonderful and successful event each year. For me, this was the best one ever!
